The Thai Lottery

The Thai Lottery is a legal form of gambling in Thailand. It is regulated by the Government lottery office. To be eligible to play, you must purchase a ticket from an authorized retailer. In order to claim your prize, you will need to present your passport or ID card, fill out a claim form, and pay stamp duty.

Tickets are sold in Thailand through a network of about 14,700 authorized retail venues. Ticket brokers distribute tickets to these retail venues. Generally, the price of each ticket is between 80 and 120 baht. There are two types of lottery tickets: TGL and TCL. Both lottery tickets contain a six-digit number. When the numbers match, the winner receives the prize.

Tickets are printed on special yellow paper. These tickets are coated with chemicals to prevent them from staining. Some tickets feature a two-tone watermark. Once the winner collects their prize, they will need to fill out a claim form, and visit a GLO office in Bangkok. If they have a problem with the process, they can call the GLO Department of Prize Payments at 02-528-96-21.

To solve the problem, the government introduced a new lottery system. This lottery was more accessible to people of all income levels. Currently, the price of a lottery ticket is set at 80 baht.
